Donate OnlineFor over 23 years, students of all ages have been playing instruments, singing, learning and growing through quality music education at the Manchester Community Music School (MCMS). In this coming year, MCMS will award over $70,000 in financial aid to nearly 250 students.
Meet the Jones (not their real name) - a family who could not afford to have music in their lives without the support of MCMS' financial aid program.
"Today is my favorite day of the week - Music School Day!" says 12-year old Alicia when she comes home from school and greets her Mom with a confident smile. A few years ago, Alicia was a timid girl who had trouble making friends and spent a lot of time by herself. Searching for a means to help her daughter, Alicia's mom came to the Music School and learned of the financial aid program. Today, Alicia's family receives assistance so she can take piano lessons and participate in ensembles. "Without the financial aid we receive from MCMS, Alicia would not have music in her life. She is blossoming into a confident young lady with great self esteem - I thank the Music School for playing a big role in this."
